The holy season of Lent is just around the corner. Ash Wednesday is on March 6th this year and we need to prepare our hearts and enter more deeply into his sacred season of our Lord's passion and death. As we sit quietly with the Lord, what is He telling us? Is there something He is asking of us? Let us take time to listen closely so that we can respond in love to what He is saying.

Our Associate meeting will be held on Sunday, March 17, 2019, at 1:30 p.m. The theme of the presentation is the first word that Jesus prays on the cross: "Father forgive them for they know not what they do." To prepare for this time, please take time to reflect on these questions. Let Jesus speak to your heart as you complete fhe following:
  1. Christ was a HIGH PRIEST who reconciled us to God; his CROSS is his altar of sacrifice. Thin about the ways that Christ has reconciled persons and us to God. How have the crosses in our lives become redemptive?
  2. Christ is a PREACHER who speaks divine truths; the words that he speaks from the cross are a sermon of faith. What truth has Jesus taught you? What last word of a loved one has touched/shaped your life?
  3. How does Jesus exhibit and filfill the Beatutides on the cross? (See the Sermon on the Mount - Mattew 5:1-12)
As you prepare for this holy season, make a few specific resolutions that will you to draw closer to Jesus. Too often, many resolutions get lost as we travel the weeks of Lent. It may also be helpful to examine how we observed our resolutions in the evening before we retire and ask Jesus to help us keep them the following day.
