Plenary Indulgance

The elderly, the sick, and anyone who cannot leave their homes due to serious causes, can also obtain a plenary indulgence by repenting their sins, intending to fulfill these three habitual conditions as soon as they have an opportunity, spiritually participating in the jubilee celebrations, and submitting their requests, pains or inconveniences of their lives to God’s mercy.

In order to facilitate access to the Divine grace through the power of the Church's key on the basis of pastoral care, the Penitentiary strongly requests that authorized priests, before the celebration, generously hear the confessions with readiness.

Translation:

On the basis of the humble plea, recently submitted by Sister Johanna Vogl, Superior General of the Congregation of the Sisters of the Divine Redeemer along with the Superior Generals of the Congregation of the Sisters of the Divine Savior and the Congregation of the Sisters of the Redeemer, the Apostolic Penitentiary, under the authority given by Holy Father Francis, by Divine Providence Pope, to strengthen the faith and the salvation of the faithful, benevolently grants, from the heavenly treasures of the Church, in the jubilee year, dedicated to the Foundress, Blessed Alphonse Marie Eppinger, a plenary indulgence, under the usual conditions (Sacrament of Penance, Holy Communion, and prayer for the intentions of our Holy Father), to the Sisters and the believers, who show true repentance, and are entangled with love. The plenary indulgence can be obtained from September 10, 2018 to August 28, 2019. The plenary indulgence can be also applied to the souls in purgatory.

The conditions to obtain the plenary indulgence are: devout visits to the chapel of the Motherhouse of the three Congregations mentioned above, or some other shrine as pilgrims, devoutly attend the jubilee celebrations, or at least spend some time in prayer, devotions and meditation, and end it by the prayer “Our Father”, professing the Faith, invoke the Blessed Virgin Mary and Blessed Alphonse Marie Eppinger.

At present, this only applies to this one time. Contradictory regulations have no effect.
