Mission and Apostolate of the Congregation

We are aware that we all are in the service of the mission which Christ, the Redeemer, entrusted to His Church. Our specific mission is to proclaim the Good News of the Gospel to all and in this way to cooperate in the work of the Redemption and to be a prophetic sign to the world.

In fulfilling our mission in the Church and world we shall, in the spirit of our Foundress Mother Alphonse Marie, minister to the poor and suffering and to serve the Kingdom in intimate union with Christ, in love and simplicity and we should be an instrument of God’s love. Through the physical and spiritual works of mercy we help people in their physical and spiritual needs and contribute to their peace and salvation. We want to be close to the people at the margins of society, to perceive their needs and accompany them to the life of dignity and esteem.

We want to alleviate the material and spiritual needs of people. Through our social, charitable and pastoral activities, and education, we foster Christian values and principles.

Also important for us is the promotion of justice, peace, and care for creation.

We try to foster good relations with our lay collaborators. We are also interested in the continued professional training of the Sisters in all areas, so that we may be able to give a response to the needs and the miseries of the time. In prayer we receive the strength for our apostolic endeavors.

Our mission as Sisters of the Divine Redeemer endures until death—in the acceptance of the weaknesses of age, in sickness, and in the apostolate of prayer.

Today the most important apostolate of the American Sisters is prayer apostolate, which they fulfil for people in various needs. Together with lay-members and volunteers they try to lead an authentic life by being leaven for the Kingdom of God.

In faith and confidence in the help of God’s grace and the intercession of our Mother Foundress we strive to make visible the merciful and redeeming love of Jesus Christ through pastoral, social, charitable, and pedagogical works, according her words,” You shall encounter all persons who are entrusted into your care with love and kindness, being mindful that God is serving the person through you“.

We Remember
Merciful Jesus, grant them eternal rest.
