The Congregation of the Sisters of the Divine Redeemer

Is a religious Institute, an apostolic religious community of papal right with simple, perpetual vows.

The general purpose of the Congregation is to glorify God and to strive for the perfection of Christian love by following Christ on the way of the evangelical counsels (cf Can 573).

The Sisters of the Divine Redeemer are to serve Christ in the poor and in the sick, bearing in mind these words “Whatever you did to the least of my brethren, you did to me” (Mt 25:40).

In fulfilling our mission in the Church we, in the spirit of our Foundress, Blessed Alphonse Marie, minister to the poor and suffering, are open and ready to the needs of the times, and serve the Kingdom in intimate union with Christ in love, and simplicity.

THE LOGO OF THE SISTERS OF THE DIVINE REDEEMER

Jesus Christ, our Redeemer, is the center of our Congregation, of our communities, and of each particular Sister.

The cross is in the lines of circles is disconnected, it is not closed completely. It expresses the thought of Paul the Apostle in the letter to the Colossians 1, 24: “…and in my flesh I am filling up what is lacking in the afflictions of Christ…”

The two enlaced circles represent the divine and the human nature of Jesus.

“Our lives are grounded in God’s love which is revealed to us in Jesus Christ. In this way, we become capable of living from this mystery of Redemption in freedom and joy.” (C 6)
