HYMN

1. Crown him with many crowns,
the lamb upon his throne;
Hark! how the heav'nly anthem drowns
all music but its own:
awake, my soul, and sing
of him who died for thee,
and hail him as thy matchless King
through all eternity.

2. Crown him the Lord of Lords,
who over all doth reign,
who once on earth, the incarnate Word,
for ransomed sinners slain,
now lives in realms of light,
where saints with angels sing
their song before him day and night
their God, Redeemer, King.

3. Crown him the Lord of heav'n,
enthroned in worlds above;
crown him the King, to whom is giv'n
the wondrous name of Love.
Crown him with many crowns,
as thrones before him fall,
crown him, ye kings, with many crowns,
for he is King of all.

PSALMODY

Midmorning Ant.  The first man, Adam, as scripture says, became a ligving soul; but the last Adam has become a lifegiving spirit.
Midday Ant.  Sing a new hymn to the Lord. Let his praise resound to the ends of the earth.
Midafternoon Ant.  My eyes have seen your salvation, which you have prepared for all nations.

Psalm 118
Song of joy for salvation

This Jesus is the stone which, rejected by you builders, has become the chief stone supporting all the rest (Acts 4:11).

                    I

Give thanks to the Lord for he is good,
for his love endures for ever.

Let the sons of Israel say:
"His love endures for ever."
Let the sons of Aaron say:
"His love endures for ever."
Let those who fear the Lord say:
"His love endures for ever."

I called to the Lord in my distress;
he answered and freed me.
The Lord is at my side; I do not fear.
What can man do against me?
The Lord is at my side as my helper:
I shall look down on my foes.

It is better to take refuge in the Lord
than to trust in men:
it is better to take refuge in the Lord
than to trust in princes.

Glory to the Father, and to the Son
and to the Holy Spirit:
as it was in the beginning, is now,
and will be for ever. Amen.

                    II

The nations all encampassed me;
in the Lord's name I crushed them.

They compessed me, compessed me about;
in the Lord's name I crushed them.
They compassed about me like bees;
they blazed like a fire among thorns.
In the Lord's name I crushed them.

I was hard-pressed and was falling
but the Lord came to help me.
The Lord is my strength and my song;
he is my savior.
There are shouts of joy and victory in the tents of the just.

The Lord's right hand has triumphed;
his right hand raised me.
The Lord's right hand has triumphed;
I shall not die, I shall live
and recount his deeds.
I was punished, I was punished by the Lord,
but not doomed to die.

Glory to the Father, and to the Son
and to the Holy Spirit:
as it was in the beginning, is now,
and will be for ever. Amen.

                    III

Open to me the gates of holiness:
I will enter and give thanks.
This is the Lord's own gate
where the just may enter.
I will thank you for you have answered
and you are my savior.

The stone which the builders rejected
has become the corner stone.
This is the work of the Lord,
a marvel in our eyes.
This day was made by the Lord;
the Lord God is our light.

Go forward in procession with branches
even to the altar.
You are my God, I thank you.
My God, I praise you.
Give thanks to the Lord for he is good;
for his love endures for ever.

Glory to the Father, and to the Son *
and to the Holy Spirit:
as it was in the beginning, is now, *
and will be for ever. Amen.

Psalm Prayer
Lord God, you have given us the great day of rejoicing> Jesus Christ, the stone rejected by the builders, has become the cornerstone of the Church, our spiritual home. Shed upon your Church the rays of your glory, tha it may be seen as the gate of salvation open to all nations. Let cries of joy and exultation ring out from its tents, to celebrate the wonder of Christ's resurrection.

Romans 5:10-11

When we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, we were still enemies; now that we have been reconciled, surely we may count on being saved by the life of his Son. Not merely because we have been reconciled but because we are filled with joyful trust in God, through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have already gained our reconciliation.

God sent his word to the people of Israel. Alleluia.
– To them the goodness of peace was brought by Jesus Christ. Alleluia.

1 Thimoty 2:4-7

God wants everyone to be saved and reach full knowledge of the truth. For there is only one God, and there is only one mediator between God and mankind, himself a man, Christ Jesus, who sacrificed himself as a randsom for them all. He is the evidence of this, sent at the appointed time, and I have been named a herald and apostle of it – I am telling the truth and no lie.

I will make you the light of the nations. Alleluia.
– So tha my salvation may reach to the ends of the earth. Alleluia.

READING
Romans 8:1-4

The reason why those who are in Christ Jesus are not condemned is that the law of the spirit of life in Christ Jesus has set you free from the law of sin and death. God has done what the Law, because of our unspiritual nature, was unable to do. God dealt with sin by sending his own Son in a body as physical as any sinful body, and in that bod God condemned sin. He did this in order that the Law's just demands might be satisfied in us.

Mercy and faithfulness have met. Alleluia.
– Justice and peace have embraced. Alleluia.

CONCLUDING PRAYER

Eternal Father, to conquer death and bring us back to life you made your only Son Redeemer of mankind. May we ever remember your kindness, cling to you with unfailing love and so enjoy the benefits of your Redemption. We ask this through Christ, our Lord. Amen.
