Works of Mercy

Our Holy Father, Pope Francis has seen a great need for souls to turn their lives over to Christ. People are drifting away from God by accepting sin and have no remorse of conscience. He knows God wants to save souls from going to hell so he introduced this year to be the “Holy Year of Mercy”. Here is how I respond in the spirit of our Venerable Mother Alphonse Marie.

The Corporal Works of Mercy are a good place to start. I like to get the lunch ready for our telephone volunteers so feeding the hungry and giving drink brings comfort to them. Sending get wellcards to friends and praying for all the sick helps them offer up their pain. To clothe the naked, harbor the harborless or ransom the captive can be done when I send donations to the missions for this purpose.

For the Spiritual Works of Mercy I like to send Holy Mass Enrollments for sick or deceased person. Also I like to place them in the Chalice and on the Paten of the Holy Mass in the country wherever it is offered in the world day or night. I try to bear wrongs patiently and I always forgive all injuries. With the grace of God I never hold a grudge.

May God continue to keep me in His loving care.
