Handmade Quilts

The king-sized California poppy quilt took me four years to complete. I did not use a photo, only my thoughts of how maroon-colored wildflower poppies bloom in precise weather condition in California. I was inspired to quilt by mother and grandmather. I have made 18 handsewn quilts, and the poppy quilt is one of my favorit.

I attended school in West Newton, where I was an organist for the parish. When I met the Sisters of the Divine Redeemer I entered their Academy in Elizabeth. The seeds that turned into my deep religious roots were planted when I attended Holy Family Parish's CCD classes and later taugh the classes. After my graduations I became a teacher. I have a bachlor's degree in education from Duquesne University, Pittsburgh, and a master's in business education from The Catholic University of American Washington, D.C.

In my free time I like to sew. With love I sew things when the Sisters ask me to do.
